Last week was Children’s Mental Health Week in the UK, the theme was ‘Express Yourself’ but it also got me thinking about well being for children and what that looks like, which is why our theme for Valentine’s Day 2021 will be ‘Love Yourself’. I hope today’s blog will inspire you to have a great Valentine’s Day with your children.
Valentine’s Day for kids?
Growing up, every Valentine’s Day I would receive chocolate or flowers from my parents. In our home it was an opportunity to show each other how much we were loved and I’ve continued this tradition with my children. From fun (messy) activities to pizza parties, it’s a day to just take some time and be together doing the things we love.
This year we are still in the midst of a global pandemic, so will be taking the day to reflect on what we love about ourselves and each other. As well as taking the time to take care of ourselves – as relaxation lovers, an at home spa day will be the main feature!
The “Love Yourself” Itinerary for Kids
Our itinerary for the weekend is below, there are no timings to allow for early risers or lie-ins (a parent can dream right?). My children love yoga & meditation, something they often do unprompted and they even have their own yoga mats, unlike me. But you could replace these sections with something your child finds relaxing but still promotes general well being.
